Duplicating Ads with Post ID

Hi all,

I create a creative testing campaign and upload creatives directly through Ads Manager. Once I identify winners, I grab the post ID of those ads to preserve social proof.

I then use the post ID to duplicate the winning creative into my scaling campaign.
However, when I set up the ad in the scaling campaign using the post ID, I get this warning:

"The selected objective only supports posts that were published on Facebook or Instagram. Please select a different post."

Despite the warning, the ad can still be published.

My questions:

Is it safe to ignore this warning? Does it negatively affect ad delivery or performance?
Is this warning appearing because creatives uploaded directly via Ads Manager are treated as "unpublished page posts" (dark posts)?
If I want to scale winners using post IDs, do I need to publish all creatives organically on my Facebook and/or Instagram page first?

Thanks!

you can keep social proof when duplicating ads (there's a checkbox to maintain the social proof)

However, if you launch them organically and then you wanna use the organic social proof, these must be posted in Facebook, otherwise they WON'T keep the social proof.

I had this exact issue couple of weeks ago and if the organic posts are on instagram only and you use them in the campaigns by "selecting a post", they don't save the organic social proof.

I’ve always wondered if the "Show existing reactions, comments, and shares" checkbox is working because everyone is talking about post id when it comes to duplicating ads.

Thank you for enlightening!
