Ad sets when starting out with influencer

I've read conflicting things about structuring ad accounts. The general advice seems to be that <$500 day you want to keep everything in one ad set.
We're going to start on ~$400 so we assume we can test about 6 creates - all video.

One of these videos has my co-founder who is an influencer - I suspect this video could do really well but am concerned about putting it in the same ad set as the other 5 as I've heard it would 'win' and then use up all the spend not giving the other creatives a chance.

My question is should we put that one video in it's own ad set and the other 5 in their own ad set?

Cheers

Edit: Also, thoughts on running as a partnership ad?

You are right :) You will likely end up as you suggest and that video will likely absorb +90% of your budget while the rest don't have a chance.

The structure depends on the creative that you're optimizing for and how that influencer asset performs compared to the "generic" videos. If you have a much lower CPA with the influencer one, perhaps you can afford having two ad groups as at the end, you just need 5-7 conversions per day and thanks to the lower CPA in that video, you can have both running in parallel.

What I would do in any case is to start with all of them together and if after a few days you see that behavior, you will have at least an idea of what a "winning" creative can give you in terms of CPA and then calculate how much money you'd need to achieve the minimum amount of signals per day to have the 2 ad groups (influencer + generic) running in parallel.

Partnership ads tend to work well although they usually have lower install rate than generic UGC content as it's more brandy and some users tend to believe that they will go to the influencer profile when clicking the ad instead of the app store

When spend increases, would you move the influencer ads to their own campaign or their own ad set?
What is the reason if ever to have a different campaign?

I always try to separate the audiences or angles of communication per ad group so it depends on the type of messaging that you are using on each video. If they follow the same angle, just keep them within the same ad group. If they are targeting a completely different angle or audience, it's good to separate them, if and when you have enough budget to generate at least 10 events per day.

When you say ad group I'm assuming you mean ad set, and you never have different campaigns?
