AI UGC for Ads

Share your thoughts on AI user generated content for ads. Quality has drastically increased.

What is working?
Are consumers converting with these ads or are they upset?

Use cases:
  • Lifestyle background videos of AI creators.
  • Talking head AI creators doing demos of products.
  • Multiple creators stitched together.

In the end, does it depend on the product? For example, younger demographics or tech savvy users don't mind. Older users might not even notice.

I stopped working with real human UGC creators ~2 years ago. The AI quality increase is crazy during the last years.

What is working?
Normal UGC content - just created with AI, way cheaper and way faster and way easier. No discussions, no back and forth because I know what I need and I promt it the way I want it.

People still buy things that other (AI)people recommend. ;)

Quick cost example:
In the past I paid real UGC creator (microcreator) around 100-300€ per video (depends on geo)
Today it costs just a few cents.

The quality is now so good that practically no one can tell the difference anymore. Whether young or old

I have accounts where all content is AI generated and it works but normally, the big products make a mix of both human and AI content.
The usual hook of 5 seconds with a short text + transition to the phone on the hand showing the app is nowadays the most used format by most of the growing apps

I always say that for starting, you can fully rely on AI to see if the product has PMF and also to scale to a certain point but after that, using real content will give you an advantage when it comes to get a better CVR in your campaigns.

"but after that, using real content will give you an advantage when it comes to get a better CVR in your campaigns."

What exactly do you mean by that? After that... so after scaling with AI, you recommend to use “real human” UGC content? That doesn't make sense to me.

The only way to me to use real human content is when it comes to real huuuge influencer. Beside these major influencers there is no need to work with real humans anymore.

i mean that you'll reach some point where AI doesn't allow you to create specific angles/ideas while real humans will do. At a certain point of scalability, that can make a difference.

Obviously, this doesn't apply to ALL cases/apps. It really depends on the skills of the creative team.
